Media
Blasting

What is it?

Media Blasting involves propelling a fluid with abrasive force against a surface to smooth the surface or eliminate contaminants. This procedure allows versatility when adding products or media to be “pressure propelled”. This method is ideal for internal and external surfaces as they do not damage the surface.

How does it work?

Compressed air or pressurized water in combination with an “abrasive media,” are projected through specialized nozzles onto the contaminant, thus eliminating the contaminant or smoothing the surface being worked on.

Benefits

  • Versatility of materials: it is possible to use cleaning media ranging from plastics to steel.
Deep cleaning: There is no embedded secondary contamination when using wet blasting.
  • No damage: The use of water between the material and the contaminant creates a lubricant that protects the medium and surface from damage. It also decreases the average breakage damage and prevents the adhesion of foreign material.
  • Efficient: When it is possible to use water at high temperatures with biodegradable detergents, it allows the blasting and degreasing to occur simultaneously while eliminating the static charge of the dust that is holding it onto the surface to be cleaned.
